ACC
ACC places delegates in a contemporary crisis involving biological warfare. Represent your assigned figure, propose directives, and respond to updates from the dais as the situation develops.
The opening event will be revealed in the first committee session. Prepare by researching your assigned figure’s responsibilities and likely response to the committee’s topic.
FCC
FCC uses a fictional setting. Delegates represent characters, respond to crisis updates, and propose actions that make sense within that world.
The topic has not yet been announced. The committee is intended for experienced crisis delegates who want to debate in a fictional setting.
FCC’s topic is not yet determined. It will be determined based on public interest from outreach initiatives. VIHSMUN is dedicated to the delegates who will debate with us, and therefore, we appreciate the input of our conference’s attendees.
HCC
HCC begins in May 1940. Delegates represent countries in the published scenario and respond to the war as it develops through directives and dais updates.
Delegates will coordinate strategy while representing their countries’ interests. The dais controls how time and events progress; the brief’s restriction against joining the Axis remains part of the published scenario.
HCC is recommended for advanced delegates who enjoy crisis style Model UN debate, and who are looking for newer styles of MUN. For those wanting to try a crisis committee for the first time, HCC is the perfect fit. However, all those with interest in the historical topic are encouraged to register for HCC. HCC is meant for eager delegates who want to know all things MUN related, and those looking to debate other high schoolers their level.
All delegates in HCC: WW2 Allies, May 1940 will play the roles of various allied nations across the globe. Every nation has the common objective of defeating totalitarian regimes and guaranteeing rights for civilians. The dais will not permit any delegate to ‘switch sides’ and join the axis. Delegates may betray allies, but not for axis motives. All decisions regarding this will be made by the dais responsibly.
The initial committee session will commence the first month of debated conflict, May 1940. Time progression occurs, and directives will be implemented in accordance. Crisis progression and content is up to the discretion of the dais team at all times.
CCC
France is collapsing, and the British Expeditionary Force is trapped at Dunkirk. Members of Winston Churchill’s War Cabinet must decide how Britain responds.
Delegates will weigh military plans, diplomacy, intelligence, and support on the home front while defending their ministries’ priorities. The scenario begins during the opening weeks of Churchill’s government and develops through the committee’s decisions and dais updates.
JCC
JCC places two opposing blocs in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Delegates work within their own bloc while responding to decisions made by the other side.
The two committees pursue the objectives of the US and Soviet blocs through negotiation, intelligence, economic pressure, and military decisions. Each action may change the other committee’s situation. JCC is intended for experienced crisis delegates looking for a competitive format.
